SAP Business One is quite a scalable and trusted ERP solution that is available in the cloud driven by Amazon Web Services and also on-premises. SAP Business One is able to transform any kind of business by effectively leveraging the relevant information for boosting organisational efficiency, reaching out to the new customers, as well as driving profitable growth of the whole enterprise. Even though it is evident that SAP Business One is beneficial for all types of businesses, SAP Business One pricing is a concern in the market as it is considered expensive.

What value does SAP Business One provide for the customers?

Every team in the organisation will eventually serve its customers. Each employee in the team relies on the information that others have provided. All require access to accurate and up-to-date data for maintaining efficiency in the whole process. The purchasing team needs data to correctly forecast demand. The accounting team must keep account of the cash inflows and outflows. SAP Business One is simple to use and an exceptionally robust software. It provides both the features that are needed by the company immediately and even the ones required as and when the organisation grows. SAP Business One delivers the appropriate functionality at the correct price.

Is SAP Business One pricing very expensive?

SAP Business One provides transparency about the overall business and allows efficient control of all the business operation features that includes reporting and analytics, purchase, sales and customer management, etc. The maintenance and security of these various business operations can be very costly which can eventually make the SAP Business One software expensive. The SAP Business One pricing will depend on the level of customisation and also on the geographical location as well. The cost can also rise if the developer is not in location. But these may be hidden costs.

The SAP Business One pricing is regulated by a number of issues like the databases being used and the number of uses in the enterprise, the objective for using individual solutions, etc. The total SAP pricing will also combine the expense of the SAP licence along with the costs of the system implementation as well as its maintenance. The developer typically offers several kinds of licences, a package licence, and also a customised licence that is bought for a single use. The total cost will be decided according to the users and even the functions of the organisation. The customer will only have to pay for what he wants.

What is the SAP Business One pricing?

The SAP Business One pricing will differ on the basis of the kind of licence and whether it is an owned licence or subscription-based licence that is selected. SAP Business One provides two types of licensing — subscription based as well as owned licences. In case of the subscription-based licence, a monthly fee that will be fixed already has to be paid and it will include cloud hosting. If SAP Business One is hosted on premise, then the owned licence is required at a single one-time payment for every user. After the selection of subscription or owned licence, then the choice between different licence kinds (professional or limited financials, limited logistics, and limited CRM) has to be made. The professional licence provides the complete SAP Business One features, and on the other hand, limited licences will provide only a few particular features. The limited licence can be beneficial because of the decreased cost for the users who may not require all the software features.

How does the bill of materials in SAP Business One work?

The production of a specific product will typically start with the procurement of raw materials. The next step is creating a production order that contains the list of all the required raw materials and components. It will incorporate the steps that are required for production in a predetermined amount of time. The bill of materials in SAP Business One is generated against all the materials needed in the production order. It has a full inventory of all the items and their expenses to create a product. There is a hierarchy of all parent and child items. Creating BOMs in SAP Business One helps to increase the accuracy and decrease errors. Four kinds of bill of materials in SAP Business One can be created as per the production requirements:

  • Production Bill of Materials in SAP — The Production bill of materials will contain the list of all finished products as parent items. It will also list the components that are present with the finished product as child items. There is also an option of turning the components into the finished products throughout the production process.
  • Sales Bill of Materials — The Sales bill of materials in SAP Business One is utilised for the sales documents when parent items are listed as sales items and not as inventory items. When the parent items are selected in the sales document, the child items will become the sub-items. The child items cannot be added or deleted in the sales document but the quantities of the existing child items can be edited.
  • Assembly Bill of Materials in SAP — Like in the case of the Sales Bill of Materials, the Assembly Bill of Materials consists of a collection of all items in a set that come with a particular price, and then the finished product is shown as a sales item. However, unlike the Sales bill of material, only the finished product is listed in the Assembly bill of materials in SAP. The components are not shown as child items.
  • Template Bill of Materials — The Template Bill of Materials in SAP is very flexible and comes with no restrictions as both parent and child items can be shown as any kind of item. This bill of materials can be used for production and sales documents both with the parent item shown on top and child items below. The Template BoM enables the replacement, updating, or removal of these items for making required modifications in the documents.

Takeaway

The implementation process of the SAP software system is believed to make the SAP Business One pricing very expensive. The price of SAP Business One is divided on the basis of a number of different factors and also as per the scale and requirements of the organisation, the cost of the SAP Business One software can be more or less.
